Full Game Explanation
My Friend Sounds Like is a Let’s Make a Deal bit you can run as an up-front game. You need pairs, a blindfold, and a list of words to put on a screen. Words can be animals, objects, or places.
One person faces away or is blindfolded so they cannot see the screen. The word goes up. Their partner makes the sound. Saying the word is allowed — “bark” — but they also have to make the actual noise. No charades, no pointing, no extra hints. The blindfolded person answers in the form “My partner sounds like a ___.” One guess per word.
A right guess is a point. Wrong, and the moderator reveals it. Switch roles, or bring up the next pair. Three words per pair is enough. Most points wins. For a youth group, drop “husband” and use “my partner sounds like.”
On the show, Wayne Brady often bans the word and wants only the sound. Your version is looser: word plus sound.
