Here is how you play
Roaming Pictionary is a two-team race version of Pictionary. Instead of sitting around one pad, teams move through a space, drawing and guessing as they go. First team to finish the list wins.
Setup. Split into two teams. A moderator has a shared list of words (or post the same prompts at stations around a room, hallway, or yard). Give each team paper and a marker — a clipboard or a pad they can carry works best. Same drawing rules as regular Pictionary: no letters, no numbers, no talking from the drawer, no “sounds like” gestures.
How it works. One player from each team goes to the moderator (or Station 1) and gets the first word. They run back to their team and **draw** it. When the team guesses correctly, a **different** player goes to the moderator, says the word they just got, and receives the next one. Rotate so everyone draws before anyone draws twice.
If you’re using stations instead of a moderator: each station has a hidden prompt. The drawer looks at it, draws nearby (not in view of the other team), the team guesses, then the whole team **roams** to the next station.
Winning. First team through every word wins. You can also time both teams and score by speed, or run several lists and keep a tally.
Useful house rules. Use 8–12 prompts. Keep teams far enough apart that they can’t see each other’s sketches. One skip per team is fair if a word is impossible. Markers only — no tracing objects in the room, no writing any part of the word.
The roaming part is the movement between clues. The rest is Pictionary: draw fast, guess loud, no letters.
