Full Game Explanation
Telephone Pictionary (AKA Telestrations) is a classic pen-and-paper (or commercial board game) party activity that combines the “telephone” game with Pictionary. The goal is pure entertainment through miscommunication—there’s usually no real winner.
How to play (classic paper version):
1. Sit in a circle. Give each player a stack of paper (or a small notebook/index cards) equal to the number of players, plus a pen/pencil.
2. Everyone writes a sentence or phrase on their top sheet (silly or specific ones work best).
3. Pass the papers to the next person.
4. That person draws a picture of the sentence they see, then folds/hides the original text so only the drawing is visible.
5. Pass again. The next player looks only at the drawing and writes what they think it shows.
6. Fold/hide the drawing and continue alternating: draw → write → draw → write.
7. Keep going until the papers return to their original owners (or you’ve filled the available space, always ending on a written guess).
8. Unfold everything and read the chains out loud. The results are almost always absurd and funny.
